More on BARC efforts to restore power

Crews to work up 220 toward Highland tomorrow

MILLBORO — BARC just reported it now has 3,614 customers without electric service across five counties, and field personnel will work past dark this evening, moving their way north toward Bolar in Highland tomorrow.

Power to BARC’s Effinger substation has been restored.

Crews are currently working in the following locations:

•                Effinger substation (various locations)

•                Village of Millboro and surrounding area

•                Bustleburg substation (various locations)

•                Hot Springs

•                South on Route 687

•                Falling Springs and Johnson’s Creek

•                Estaline substation (various locations)

•                Mill Creek

•                Deerfield

•                Green Valley

•                Ridge Road

•                Bratton’s Run

•                Williamsville to Headwaters

•                Shaw’s Ridge & Palo Alto

•                Lexington substation (various locations)

•                Cornwall substation (various locations)

•                Route 42

“Additional crews arrive this afternoon from North Carolina and will be sent up Route 220 North working their way toward Bolar and our Highland County customers,” said general manager Mike Keyser. “We expect to make strong progress in these two areas tomorrow (Friday).”
